It's a bit hard to review a thriller while it's still running in case you blow some of the secrets. Here goes anyway.
It has been a while since I saw a show at the Old Mill (I think the last one had Marcus Graham in it) and I was pleasantly surprised to find not much had changed. It's still a very cosy little venue in the tradition of amateur theatre and clearly still a proving ground for rising stars.
The set was well dressed and I appreciate the effort that went into that. The lighting, sound and special effects were good. The acting and direction were generally very good except I thought the dialogue seemed to suggest a touch more sexual tension between the two main protagonists. I was well and truly sucked in anyway, as I think were the rest of the (mainly greypower) audience.
I thought it a bit cheeky to call it a "modern thriller" though, given the frequent references to "Corporate Affairs" which hasn't existed since the 80s and "I got your fax" should today be "I got your email", etc etc.
Anyway folks, it's only on for 2 more nights, so see it before I start analysing the plot!
