What about the ladies?

Don't you just get sick of all the notices urgently requiring male actors? I know this is an age old problem - but what about the women? There are two films being made at the moment with nearly entirely male casts. One has 96 roles, only about 6 for women. I think its about time writers (including female ones) start reflecting the fact that over half the population of this world is actually female! Maybe I'm way off base - but are eighty percent of the female population 18-25 with model looks as well?
I am sure we could have some interesting female roles for women over 30 (apart from someone's mother). Ah well, I got that off my chest - I'll just go back to my knitting and shut up.

Try looking at the audition notices for Garrick's first play of 2001.
It is an all women play about the Hay Street, brothels in Kalgoorlie - Starting Stalls.
KADS last play in 2001 only has one male part - Secret Bridesmaids Business

As one WELL over the thirty something mark, I've managed to be in four productions this year!!!!!!
