Our theatre, The Golden Lotus Theatre, is the first Buddhist theatre, which dedicated to spread the Buddhism through arts and literature which we believe it will be easily understand by young generation, in Taiwan. In the past six years we have performed six dramas about the famous monks in Buddhism, including Master Tai Hsu. Our seventh drama, Master Xuan Zang, has just presented in Singapore on 15,16,17 Sept. which receive lots of positive feedback from public. We are now planning to perform the drama at Australia, however, we are not familiar with the environment in your country. Therefore we need someone who are interested in spreading the Buddhism through performing arts to help us finding sponsor or to introduce us to perform in these contries.
If someone can be of help to introduce our drama to these countries? Please kindly give us a back.
Looking forward to hear from you soon. Thank you.

Press Release; Master Xuan Zang
Master Xuan Zang; An exquisite historical play
Master Xuan Zang, the legendary and remarkable man who embarked on a 17 years journey to the west due to his dedication to the Buddha Dharma. Famed throughout South East Asia and China, fascinating stories of his journey will be presented to the public from 15th, 16th, 17th Sept, at the Kallang Theatre, by the Golden Lotus Performing Group.
Buddhism was popular during the Tang Dynasty. However, Buddhist scriptures during that period were misleading due to inadequacy in translation. Master Xuan Zang thus made a vow to make a trip to the west, India, to bring original Buddhist scriptures back to his homeland. It was an impossible mission during then. He had to pass through the formidable and dangerous Takalamakan desert to get to India. During the journey, he was faced with many obstacles; some wanted to kill him, some wanted to shoot him, some wanted to steal from him and there are even those who wanted to sacrifice him as an offering. His determination and decision never waver. He eventually brought back with him, a total of six hundred and fifty-seven sets of Buddhist scriptures. His quest not only laid the foundation of promoting the Buddha Dharma and Chinese culture to other countries, it also fostered the relationship of cultural exchange between China and India.
The Emperor of the Tang Dynasty became a devoted Buddhist under the influenced of Master Xuan Zang. Reputed as a great ruler for his literary and martial skills, this benevolent Emperor spent his later years promoting Buddhism. This led the development of Buddhism in China to reach a peak in Tang Dynasty.
Master Xuan Zang authored "Da Tang Xi Yu Ji" based on his extraordinary journey. This book became a treasure to many. Even today in our twentieth century, it is a valuable resource and research material for arts and archaeology studies. The popular folktale "Journey to the West" was originated from Master Xuan Zang¡¦s amazing journey.
The Golden Lotus Performing Group has no less than 6 theatre productions under its wing. Her last production, "The Lotus Born Buddha-Lian Hua Sheng Da Shi" was also brought over to Singapore after their performance at the Taiwan National Theatre. This signifies a giant step towards the promotion of Taiwan's Buddhist performing arts overseas. Master Xuan Zang, their seventh production, is not only an exquisite historical play, no efforts has been spared in the design of the sets and costumes to bring our audience towards a new visually captivating experience.
