Othello V Titus - Easy Bard for the Easily Bored
Mon, 31 July 2000, 11:18 amThe Gloves Are Off!
Shakespearience, Healthway and The Blue Room Theatre present, for your viewing pleasure, a double Bill featuring two of big, bad Billy ShakespeareÂ’s fiercest heavyweight tragedians.
Individually edited by Scott Kaiser of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival down to a lithe running time of 40 minutes, and featuring a cast of only three players each, Titus Andronicus and Othello the Moor are set to engage and thrill audiences from August 2 - 12 in NorthbridgeÂ’s Blue Room Theatre.
Using the same performance space, experienced directors Gibson Nolte and Claire Hooper have tackled a script each to bring you two of the most exciting and dynamically opposed Shakespearean productions you will see this year.
Feast your eyes on HooperÂ’s measured and dreamlike Othello, then grip your seat cushions as the chainsaws buzz and the blood flies in NolteÂ’s Titus Andronicus.
You wonÂ’t want to let this double bill pass you by!
Performed by Joanne Booth, Simon Keen, Toby Malone & Rebecca Pithers

RE: Easy Bard for the Easily Bored
hehe is this anything like the Complete Idiot's Guide to Shakespeare?
;-)
My personal favourite is trying to perform those parallel text Shakespeares - the ones with the original text on one page and the "plain english" on the other. It's a scream!
Cheers
