Olympics Opening Ceremony Clown Auditions - Sydney
"Under the direction of Sue Broadway - a former Artistic Director of Circus Oz - workshops led by some of Australia's best clown teachers - including Playspace Director, Alan Clay - will help you to
discover your own particular brand of comic genius. In the workshops you will be helped to devise physical routines which will be performed while roving throughout the stadium audience."
"You may also be part of the biggest knockabout act ever - seventy clowns in the arena will create a moment of pure chaos to start the evening off with a bang, plus you have the opportunity to do a return
performance at the Closing Ceremony - the World's biggest Party."
The audition is on Tuesday July 25th at 6.30pm. Rehearsals will be on Tuesday nights, 6.30 to 9.30pm, Aug 1st and 8th and Sept 5th.
Dress rehearsals are Sept 9th & 13th, with the show on Sept 5th.

National Institute of Circus Arts (NICA) - Melbourne, Australia
a. Aims to train world class acrobatic/circus artists.
b. NICA will have its first full-time intake in February 2001, auditioning in late October.
c. The course will be offered as a vocational degree
NICA draws on the skills of a number of international experts; Mr Jing Jing: Former Principal, Shang Hai Circus School/Acrobatic Troupe.
Mr Zhongde Zhang: Former gold medallist and international judge, sports acrobatics.
Mr Arturo Gomez: Traditional family circus background, form Argentina.
Mr Sergei Druzhina: Moscow Circus -
equilibrist, hand balancer and high wire walker.
Mr Guang Rong Lu: Currently from The Flying Fruit Fly Circus, will oversee the course.
NICA are currently conducting a 6 week part-time preparatory program, assisting people to prepare for auditions, cover basic acrobatics, aerial, manipulation, performance and movement.
