Vics do it alone
Wed, 21 June 2000, 06:47 pmMembers and friends of the ITA (WA), the Association of Community Theatre (NSW) and the Theatre Association of South Australia may be surprised to discover that they do not exist!
The Victorian Drama League, established in 1952 to support the amateur theatre world in Victoria, makes the following astonishing claim on their new website:
The Victorian Drama League is the only such organisation in Australia and only one of two in the World.
The site's author and editor of Theatrecraft, the VDL magazine, responded to my initial enquiry justifying the claim because VDL has a Library with 28000 scripts, Tapes books etc. and ACT(NSW) doesn't.
I've not yet had a reply to my response that the ITA(WA) also has a library. So perhaps VDL is not alone after all?
Cheers
Grant
