Congratulations to GRADSÂ’ "A DollÂ’s House" on their opening weekend. As with PlayloversÂ’ "Assassins", the practice of offering discount tickets to lure customers to the show, thus ensuring early word-of-mouth, seems to have succeeded admirably.

To that end, BLAK YAK Theatre has decided to follow suit. This coming Friday, June 23rd, sees the opening night of "Bumpy Angels" at the Kalamunda Performing Arts Centre, and we would like to offer discount tickets to all patrons.

As some people are aware, BLAK YAK has recently suffered a massive (400%) increase in our rehearsal costs. Unfortunately, we have had to increase our ticket prices to save us ourselves from bankruptcy. As President of BLAK YAK, I am openly apologising to anyone who is concerned by this price increase, and I hope youÂ’ll still consider coming to see our show.

Ticket prices for "Bumpy Angels" are normally $14 and $12, but for this Friday opening night only, tickets will be available at $10 and $8. Anyone who has already booked a ticket, will still be charged the discount price at the door.

I will echo Grant’s assertion that this is not a ‘cheap final rehearsal’ - these wonderful girls have been rehearsing for three months and they’re sick of an empty auditorium - they want an audience NOW!

If you canÂ’t make the show this week at Kalamunda, please note that we will next take "Bumpy Angels" to our regular venue: The City of Gosnells Don Russell Performing Arts Centre in Thornlie, for July 1, 7, 8, 12, 14, 15 (Sat; Fri, Sat; Wed, Fri, Sat). This will be followed by a two-night season at Hackett Hall (thanks to the kind people at Playlovers) on July 21 & 22 (Fri & Sat). Finally, the grand tour ends at the Kwinana Performing Arts Centre on July 28 & 29 (Fri & Sat). So, no excuses for anyone missing the show. Hope to see you there.
