Homestead Theatre presents: ATTIS & WINDSNAKE
ATTIS and WINDSNAKE are oral poems created by Noël Christian and accompanied by music developed by Steve Grant, Jonathon Mustard and Chelsea. Each poem treats mythical material within a modern Australian context, and draws upon research into the oral traditions of the Mediterranean, Melanesia, Central Asia and contemporary Australia. The music explores electronic and acoustic sonorities ranging from made-instruments and voice samples to traditional jazz instrumentation and folk instruments. Both pieces are fully collaborative.
ATTIS has seen successful performances in Albany, 1996, and Perth, 1998. WINDSNAKE was developed for the Totally Huge New Music Festival, 2000.
Rechabites Hall. William St, Northbridge. 8pm prompt
$10 ticket available from 9362 4550
