hi...i've never posted here before and i am not austrailian, but i wondering if anyone could help me out.

after years of frustration with poor theater in new jersey, my self and some friends are looking towards putting together our own theater production company. most of us are theater professionals, but we're looking for some advice on starting up. if anyone can offer some advice it would be greatly appreciated.

Have you considered doing a course in Arts Management. I am an arts management student in Australia and I have heard that there are a few good arts management courses in America. Arts Management gives you a broad overview of the many aspects of running a production company such as finance, law, communication and management principles.
My other suggestion is contacts, contacts, contact!! Exploit anyone and everyone you have ever known. Be nice to everyone because you never know when they may be able to help you. The more people in the industry you know, the easier it will be for you to get your company off the ground.
