To those of you who get/read the Link.
We are taking up the suggestion made at the AGM that we bite the bullet and start the mammoth task of compiling a register of assets, both human and inanimate.
PLEASE we need ALL clubs out there to help. A form is being designed which will be sent to all clubs asking for basic details on various assets, ie furniture, props, costumes, equipment that you are prepared to loan out. Ailsa Travers has valiantly volunteered to start with Wardrobe as she already has a good network of wardrobe persons on her personal "database". (Little black book as she is not on the internet)
Please ask your Wardrobe person(s) to contact her direct to be included. 9279-1151.
REMEMBER THIS SUGGESTION HAS COME FROM A MEMBER CLUB SO PLEASE SUPPORT US IN THIS.
Actors can post their details straight to the net if the are interested in the idea and we'll pick up from there. Alternatively send details to the ITA Office at 2 Delhi St, W. Perth, 6005, Ph' 9420-7242 .
We need name, sex, (sorry gender) contact phone (don't post address here) age range, special skills, ie ability to sing, dance, play, fence, etc, willingness to travel long or small distances, type of production preferred & anything else relevant.
Above goes for Directors, Technical Crew etc etc.
Keep watching, & we'll keep you posted.

er... do we really want to have to retype all the details that people put up here in a post on the message board?
Surely it would make sense to put up a simple form to fill out so that the information can go straight into the database?
Just my thoughts, but i'd suggest it might be worth holding off on posting your vitals here for a little while.
Cheers

RE: Register of assets

Re my earlier message. Our wonderful Web Wizard has come up with a much better idea, more when we've worked out the details.
However don't let that deter anyone who feels that they would like their vital statistics to be displayed!

RE: Register of assets

Hi,
I've been reading the gossip now for a few weeks - what a great read! - and thought it was about time I pitched in. I think the assest register is a good idea - a huge job I agree - but was wondering how willing theatre groups may be in providing the ITA with names of their highly valued resources? (Especially good techies!) I pose this question because of the response I got when I raised it at our recent committee meeting!
All the best with it.

RE: Register of assets

You are quite correct Sarah, one of the reasons compiling a register of any kind of assets is so damn difficult is the near impossibility of getting much co-operation.
However we can but try.
so far the response has been a big fat zero!

RE: Register of assets

Norma, please don't be too depressed.
Blak Yak's wardrobe dept. (for one) is in the process of contacting Ailsa re that side of the Register. Actually the idea of the Register prompted a wardrobe clear/tidy up, as in - we know 'basically' what we've got, but now is a good time to really find out. Thanks for providing us with the impetus!

RE: Register of assets

This concept is Brilliant. What potential application this will have. No more hunting for Props Costumes and Last Minute Cast-members when someone pulls out.
Grant, let us know when what ever you are planning is ready. Look forward to it.
