We seem to be having an major/minor crisis here in the sleepy down town hamlet of 'Mandurah-on-pond'.Apparently from a One Act - Drama - at Bunbury last weekend?I am sure what I am hearing cant be right, although, there again it is not only probable but highly .. Well I was not there and did not see . The only thing I do see is a big pile of ____ starting to restrict my view and being of short and of rotund demeanour, the step ladder in the shed wont be big enough!Does any one know or would like to add to the gossip as what might, could or did transpire. All I can see from here, on tip toes, is an epic in the making .There are allegations flying around of, the removal of costumes and personal clothing prior to and required for the performance, by others for whatever reason, who apparently have been since banned from the future festivals after despatching them back to Perth. Also very sketchy rumours of a boycott being placed on the Director by a cast and withdrawal of the play from Drama Fest 99, although the cast have apparently suggested they will do it anyway with out the Director or the clubs permission - because of some obscure reason they did not get the mention they believed they so rightly deserved, only a favourable one for the set and the Director {who was left to strike and transport it back to Mandurah-on-pond - because of the boycott - with an ageing vehicle at less than 40 km/h - turning a one hours trip into almost three and leaving a trail of smoke and oil}But, it there a coda ending, with the local constabulary become involved because of allegations of a stolen vehicle, vandalism of garden and a fence.Or is it just the workshopping of a script - for a future "flick"So - what next?Far be it for me!!!! to enter into such gossip!!!!!! - as I have stated these are only rumours and allegations - not the facts. But, I was waiting and hoping someone would have posted or at least switched the Dome on this affair by now.I really cannot imagine - THIS - could happen in Theatre???? .Well there was this time when ... But - that's another story?Joe

Re: Bunbury Drama

Well Joe, from one who was there I must say I have no idea about all this. I had a grand old time and saw some great plays (yah Karratha, Yah the guy from Lifeline, yah Johanna for winning best director (tied) first time out!)Beyond that, my party discovered a liquorland where you could get litre cans of beer for six dollars and I spent the rest of the weekend dragging them out of fridges and dolling out the Barrocca.Bunbury Rep was as friendly and receptive as ever, and the home made soup and rolls for $2 was enough to whet the appitites of the many starving students down there.I did hear about a mix up with costumes, someone taking someone elses away by mistake, but when (as in my session) you have five plays one after the other, things are bound to get a bit confusing!Anyone else knowing what is going on is welcome to post but for me anyway and a large proportion of the groups down there it was another resounding sucess.Leah

Re: Bunbury Drama

Congrats! to all and I am sure the hosts would look after every one - who said Bunbury was a trourist trap????I am glad everyone enjoyed themselves, as it should be.Maybe the folks of this 'wee toon' should stop drinking the water and try liquorland. It must be in the pipes from the estuary? What with their major problems they have had and are destined to have, now this lot!!!!{'IT' will be discovered one day - if and when they bother to look for 'IT'}There has got to be a pill for 'IT'?????Joe "Be-wil't-urd" McCabe
