Re: Auditions: "Surfin' Girlfriend"
Besides the age factor, would not being able to surf be a bar too auditioning? Is it a prequestite to be able to swim and sing - would that be a case of either or both at the same time? One more question - sorry!Would I have to wear 'Pan' water proofed make-up or would 'Grease' be better? Please take the above for what it is worth - the real questions I would like to ask are:-As it is writen here - who wrote it?Is it original music? Is this the first time it has been done?Any other info?To that end Jeni - I wish you all more:"applause! applAUSE! AAAAHHHAAAPPLLAAUUSSEE!!!!!!"- you may have noticed it was slightly out of key.Joe McCabe

Re: Auditions: "Surfin' Girlfriend"
Joe, what were you doing on the internet at 2.43a.m.? Sounds like a case of too-hyped-up-to-sleep-after-a-show syndrome! Thanks for your interest in "Surfin' Girlfriend" - in brief, it was written 3 years ago by David Cohen (yes, my little brother) and Daniel Gunzburg and performed in two seasons at the Blue Room. The first was Artrage and it was so popular that they (the writers and cast) decided to give it another run just for the fun of it! The music is all original and, surprisingly, no surfing actually takes place where the audience can see it... although the courtyard outside Hackett Hall actually lends itself quite well to wet weather activities in winter...It's all quite tongue-in-cheek and I'm hoping it'll be a very lighthearted contribution where everyone can have a few laughs and maybe walk away humming a bit of the theme song - even those who hate musicals or think they can't sing!Cheers, JenniP.S. I actually replied to this days ago, but as I am hopeless at dealing with the internet, it's taken me a while to actually work out how to post this response - sorry, Joe!> Besides the age factor, would not being able to surf be a bar> too auditioning?> Is it a prequestite to be able to swim and sing - would that> be a case of either or both at the same time?> One more question - sorry!> Would I have to wear 'Pan' water proofed make-up or would 'Grease'> be better?> Please take the above for what it is worth - the real questions> I would like to ask are:-> As it is writen here - who wrote it?> Is it original music?> Is this the first time it has been done?> Any other info?> To that end Jeni - I wish you all more:> "applause! applAUSE! It must be a problem with there inner microphone that distorts and filters out the less tuneful bits before it comes out of their brain speakers? - As they honestly believe they are great singers? - It must be really disheartening!!!> Cheers, JenniThanks Jeni - If I don't get there, I'll catch it on video or CD (CVD?)please advise when it is available - Get in quick as Cameron Mackintosh is pullin up sticks and leaving, so I beleive?TOI TOI TOI CHOOKASJoe McCabe
