One thing I've always wondered about this curse is- what actually happens when you put the damned show on!?!?? The actors can't exactly refer to the title character as "Umm... you know... that Scottish guy" now, can they??!!What about the audience? Does this ludricous curse extend to them as well??A: "What show are seeing tonight, Mildred?"B: "Ooh. I think it's 'Macbeth'..."(explosion)A: "Ooh. Mrs Niggerbaiter's exploded!C: "Good thing, too..."Working in the Insurance industry, I tend to view things now from an insurance perspective. God help me. In the case above I can tell you the Public Liability consequences of any theatre group putting on the bloody show are extreme, and no-one would underwrite the risk! Two courses of action are open to thee: two cunning curse courses. (?) We can either banish the play from Western Civilisation by way of a voodoo priestess and a flamethrower, or (more rationally) we can forget this vapid bunkum about curses and other superstitious hooey, and feel free to mutter the word when we damn well feel like it!!!Show you live in the 20th century- run to a theatre and scream "MAC-BEEEEEEEEEEETH!!!!!" at the top of your lungs! I bloody dare ya!
