it isn't but a bastard friend of mine just returned from the U.S. Fresh from his days spent at the Waldorf he managed to get seats five rows from the front to see Kevin Spacey in The Iceman Cometh. The performance which he described as a mesmerising 4 1/2 hours ends with a monologue of sorts of almost 30 minutes. Anyone going to New York shouldn't miss it. Also stunning was the 50th anniversary production of Death of a Salesman with Brian Dennehy playing Willie Loman. Apparently, he brought a powerful presence to a character often portrayed as a old git. Finally he caught the controversial (meaning lots of dirty words and assorted gynaecological references) Closer with Natasha Richardson - also very powerful. Programmes i.e. Playbill can be copied at request.
