I received this notice some time ago from Norma. My apologies to Norma and to you all for not getting it up sooner!***Dear Grant,It has been decided that the 'image' of the State Drama Festival as so named has become passe and a bit cumbersome for the dawn of the new millenium! (yes I know that event isn't really for another 20 months but still!!!)In next months LINK there will be an announcement of a competition to think of a snappy one word title. (Dramawest not allowable as that's already in use)A fabulous prize is being offered just as soon as we can think of one.Can you please say something to this effect on the main site please. All entries to the ITA office, soon, as if we get a suitable name we'll use it on the poster. One suggestion "WestFest", "OneFest'. you get the idea?In the event of two persons suggesting the same, we'll cross that bridge when we come to it!Thanks, Norma.

Re: SDF

Hi NormaHow about a little on-line poll of some of the current favourites? See which one scores the most votes? Nt binding on the committee, of course. Just to see which way the wind is blowing.So.... what's in the running for a new name? What are the major contenders?CheersGrant

Re: SDF

As Eisteddfod is used around the traps - which means "session and/or gathering of Welsh poets". This should be Eisteddiad (sitting session) or Eisteddle (sitting, pew)Why don't we call it "golygfa-gwyl" (Welsh)loosly meaning Theatre-Festival (I'm a geordie so this may be incorrect) We could have the annual "g'fa" ball or The golden "Goly" statuettes. This could be bigger than that yankee one, think of the merchant-diZZzzzing.Joe McCabe

Dec-fest(this could mean something else?) or (as I'm not sure of the date) Ember-fest, Ember-Quest or Fest-ember, this could start something...?. (I think October-fest is being used???)Joe McCabe
