There's been plenty of prompting from the masses (well, hundreds of visitors per week is something not many of us see in our theatres!) for new surveys... in fact, you might say i've been inundated with suggestions. Remember that this a useful way of making your views know to the ITA committee. The underwhelming response to the suggestion of an ITA camp is hardly likely to encourage the committee to undertake one any time soon. So, the latest poll is up! Don't miss out on your opportunity to cast your vote. This time the subject is a question everyone's lips - or if it isn't it should beShowline! Who needs it? Who uses it? WHAT IS IT???Follow the link below to find out more...but above all, don't forget to cast your vote on the ITA home page.CheersGrantPS. Don't forget to undertake the ITA Web Site Feedback Survey

Re: Showline!

Not much time left to get in your vote on the Showline poll - and it's not looking good for this national phone service. It's only a tiny sample, but so far more than three-quarters of respondents have never used Showline or don't even know what it is.Are these results truly representative? Are clubs (and the ITA) wasting their money on this service? Or is a sample of people visiting this website very unrepresentative?Let us know your thoughts, but most of all cast your vote! A new poll will be going up before the end of the week.CheersGrant

Re: Showline!

re your message " it's not looking for Showline " the implication isthat ITA is considering dropping out of the service. I set up SHowlineand quite frankly I wont lose too much sleep if that happens, however Ithink it would be a shame if you did.For instance last month ACT held our launch for 99, a women in theaudience last year saw 36 amateur productions in Sydney. Why? shediscovered our showline brochure at a theatre. In 1998 she saw 28. Why? showline.See her picture on our website http://welcome.to/showlineThe fact that not many people have heard about Showline reflects thefact that ITA has not been successful YET in promoting the service inWA.The first mistake you made is charging clubs to be on it. You eitherinclude the fee in your membership or make it free for all members. As it stands now, as i understand there is only info about 8 theatres onit, this means its only provides limited information so why would peoplering it.In sydney our most popular line is for auditions, are you exploitingthis service.Naturally the internet is much better, cheaper and more comprehensive, but not all people use it or will use it.In sydney, the Gold Coast and Sunsine coast a brochure is put outadvertising shows and Showline and ACT's web-site.I'll send you a copy if you like,Also most clubs advertise it in their program.Bare in mind also that showline generated 130 calls in march. And remember ACT makes no money out of Showline, for the last 12 monthsall revenues generated have been used to pay for the upkeep of theservice, and it only takes one person half an hour a month to keep it upto date.So I suggest you keep it going.cheersDavid Spicer
