Review: Lawrence of Arabia
Tue, 2 Mar 1999, 01:13 pmI'm a bit surprised that the recent invitation to post reviews on this page hasn't generated much of a response.Anyway, a group of us saw Lawrence of Arabia at Playlovers a few night ago, and we all loved it. Now, it's well known that what I don't know about theatre could fill volumes, so I can't give a reasoned, critical analysis, but this was just a damn good show. A straightforward set representing both British and Arabian locales, convincing props, haunting soundtrack, a powerful, yet at times, bloody funny, script, and commanding performances - particularly from Lawrence and Omar Sharif (sorry, I don't have the program here in front of me), combined to present a rewarding night's theatre. If anyone is considering, or not quite sure whether to attend, please do so - it's well worth it. And if, by some slim chance you don't enjoy it, feel free to come back here and write rude things about my opinions (as if THAT would be anything new...).

Re: Review: Lawrence of Arabia
Thanks Jarrod for the review of L. of A. I'm going to see it this week and had heard of some slight reservations, admittedly from someone who went early in the piece. I shall very much look forward to seeing the play now.> I'm a bit surprised that the recent invitation to post reviews> on this page hasn't generated much of a response.> Anyway, a group of us saw Lawrence of Arabia at Playlovers a> few night ago, and we all loved it.
