G'day all,For those of you that don't receive the ITA Link, it's wonderful to see the debate here on the Finley Awards reproduced there in full - with a compelling contribution from the Link's editor David Crewes (what about copying it and pasting it here, David?).It's surely a sign of the strength of the organisation and its members that it can contain such a diversity of opinion and maintain a constructive debate. Hat's off to all concerned.CheersGrant

Thanks Grant for reminding me of a point some of our clubs members would like to bring up!!We were thrilled at the wealth of talent at the Finley Awards, but the one thing that it made us, at Acorn Theatre (possibly the SMALLEST THEATRE IN THE WORLD with only 28 seats) realise, was how limited our resourses are compared to other 'ameture' theatres in WA.We dont have any where near the amount of members clubs such as Playlovers have. Neither do we have the budgets that many clubs have available to them. Im sure there are several other theatres out there in our position, we have tops 25 members, and our normal budgets for productions are in the vicinity of $500.00 - total for EVERYTHING!!!While we savour these challenges as a club, and feel that these limited resourses are what makes Acorn such a close knit family of thespians, it has made us wonder if perhaps the Finley Awards need to cater to clubs of our size and finances. For example i am sure we couldn't compete with the gorgeous costumes from "Best little Whorehouse...", as one of there outfits alone seemed to cost as much as our whole production. This was just a point that our members wanted me to mention.if any other clubs feel they can identify with Acorn, id love to hear from u.Also, please feel to disagree with me - any response is good.Sue ThomasSecretaryAcorn Theatre> Grant
