Curtin Theatre
Wed, 8 Feb 2006, 06:52 pmThanks to the many supporters, the closure of the theatre course was avoided in the middle of last year. Now it appears that there is a new front of attack, condemning the building itself.
It appears that it could cost $1.2 million to make the place safe as a theatre, but only $700,000 to make the large theate into a lecture theatre.
Could the rumour be correct that Vic Park Council has an outline planning application for two lecture theatres in central Curtin on its books at the moment?

Re: Curtin Theatre
Thu, 9 Feb 2006, 12:19 pmThere was an item on page 12 of the Canning Community Newspaper this week which said, in precis:
"Curtin uni is planning to build 2 lecture theatres at its Bentley campus., They will be built in the centre of the campus and willl not be visible from external roads or adjoining properties. They will be situated south of the existing Architecture building and west of the Engineering building and designed to connect with existing lecture theatres and the coffee shop"
Don't know if this is what has started the comments?
Thou fobbing dizzy-eyed flirt-gill!
