Oh Polltergeist!
I think we've reached the woody end of the asparagus spear in the polls department.
Is this intended to throw some light on whether Vegos or Meatheads are more artistic or talented or something? I suspect it will show that the theatre community carries the same percentage of herbivores as the rest of the community.
A poll of Gay vs Straight vs Bi would be more thought-provoking.

Hey, it's just a poll; it only surveys the people who visit this site and feel inclined to answer....I doubt it will give any insights as to talent. Feel free to draw your own conclusions, though.
It may well show that the percentage of vegetarians here is the same as in the rest of the community....but wouldn't you find that interesting? I personally have no idea what percentage of the community are committed to vegetarianism, so I'll find the results of interest. Not particularly conclusive, but of interest.
Feel free to suggest your own polls...all I do is trawl through the suggestion list and put up the next one that seems interesting. Not everyone may agree...but then they don't need to vote. So far about 170 people have been interested enough to vote...when the interest wanes I'll change the topic again.

Asparagus shmaragus
But you gotta admit Craigo, unless your planning to cater for a big Theatre Australia shindig (wow that would be great). Why would anyone care how many people enjoy eating a good hamburger or not. Then again, what difference would it make if you had a poll about something "thought provoking" as Jonno put it. I doubt my indifference would change.
And another thing how can you classify A poll of Gay vs Straight vs Bi as more "though-provoking" in the first place. Why should it matter? Who cares? I certainly don't, but I think I already made that clear in the previous paragraph so I think I'll stop myself there.
In conclusion I think I have deduced that the poll doesn't actually mean anything and is just a diversion amongst diversions in the crazy mixed up world we live in...so I guess...I kinda agree with Craig...Dammit, I hate it when I do that!

Re: Poll Result - Mung Beans
Results of poll topic (yeah, I know it wasn't up long, but someone got bored and hey, it wasn't exactly fascinating me either)
Are you a Vegetarian?
194 participants in ONE week.
Eat meat regularly 59 30%
Yes, totally vegetarian. 42 21%
Eat meat daily 32 16%
Eat meat, but only very occasionally 19 9%
Mostly vego, but eat fish. 16 8%
I ONLY eat meat. 15 7%
Some other special diet. 11 5%
Conclusions:
There's a big percentage of people making healthy choices and eating vegetarian.
There's a big percentage of people making healthy choices and eating meat as well.
There's a few twisted individuals I'd be a bit scared of.
As far as making comparisons with the arts community...well, I'd probably draw the same conclusions about you guys.
And as far as the poll choice goes: it's actually kind of convoluted to sift through the suggestions, deleting the blank and simply disrespectful ones, making sure they are suitable for an all ages national readership, and not too similar to what has been posted previously. I usually do a spate of sifting, which takes a bit of time, and the first topic that seems remotely usable gets the guernsey. I'd say the process would be helped by more people suggesting great topics, but it wouldn't alter the fact that it takes a while to sort through them, and they can't all be gems.
Grant knows this is a problem area, it's on his list of things for the new website...

Its good to see the Polltergiest is not without a sense of humour. Very Good.
As for the twisted individuals that only eat meat I can think of a certain director that fits into that catagory. You know who you are mister.

No surprise to me that the poll results show most of us are carnivores! After all -- most thespians I know would eat you alive!

Re: Poll Result - Carnivores
Nearly half the people I know involved in performing arts are either vego, or mostly vego / that eat seafood. I think there are more vegetarian people in theatre, than there are in general community.

Frivilous Refried Beans
Then again, some actors would become vegos for a while purely because Hare Krishnas is so close to The Blue Room, Rechabites and PICA.
So full of blandy goodness I can hardly contain myself...but so cheap

I'm sorry are you being sarcastic because sometimes sarcasm is lost in posting.
Since when are curried vegetables bland?
Since forever, thats when. Blandy bland bland bland. So bland even bland goes "Man thats sooo bland". I feel like sometimes calling up my friend taste and asking him where he went when I eat that stuff.
But its good for you, really good for you and as I said previously, its cheap.
Don't get me wrong I love the Hare Krishna place. I eat there whenever I'm in the area (which is often). But sometimes I feel they skimp a little when it comes to the taste department. Mind you, it is cheap. Have I said that already?

Well, why not go to the Annalakshmi instead?
You can get a meal for 5 cents (if thats all you want to pay - its donation only)
Believe me the food there is NOT bland.
"Pass the ice cold water please!"
Just my 5 cents worth ;-)
Cheers

If you are going to use a real name at least have the courage to use your own - your response was far too humorous to be the Ray Condy I know!
