Romeo and Juliet auditions: WA
Sun, 8 Jan 2006, 06:10 pmMy name is Stephen Roberts and I am looking to form a cast of 8 actors to put on a performance of 'Romeo and Juliet'.
I have edited the script (rightly or wrongly) and am looking to fuse the scenes together with extracts of songs of the 'Rat Pack' era, Sinatra and Martin et al.
The performance will be approx 1 1/2 hours in length and will be performed specifically at an intimate venue in the area of Leederville in Perth.
Rehearsals will commence ASAP at the WA Stage School in West Perth.
Performance dates are TBA but are likely to be in April/May '06.
I would like auditions to be relaxed and non-part specific to begin with, with just some reading from the edited script.
I am new to Australia and would like to start off by creating a quality piece of drama.
In a previous life I was head of a drama department at a high school in Cambridge, England, and also directed and performed with professional companies in the UK.
