Make-up artist needing help!

Hey all,
I'm a newly qualified Make-up artist in Melbourne. I Finished my Diploma of Make-up in July and I'm qualified to do a broad range of things, such as theatre and tv work, yet at the moment I am just doing bridal as that is the only work I can get... If someone is able to help me please let me know what you think I should do?? :)

Perhaps you could try doing work experience with a production company or theatre. You can also try Arts Hub, that post all the theatre jobs (many which don't get posted else where), or getting involved in some local low-budget film.

Hey Krystal I studied photography and make up and I'm finishing my diploma in Graphic/Web Design at the end of this year. I'm looking for a job in Perth because my friend lives there. It's hard to find a sponsor of some sort and South Africans doesn't qualify for a working holiday Visa. Do you have any advice or contacts for me, I would appreciate any feedback. Hi I have recently graduated from Macquarie University having studied Music and Media studies. I am now looking for employment, but am only looking for 8 hours a week. Does anyone know of who i could approach regarding this. I am willing and able to work in any area that uses my degree or not eg. an Admin position etc. Ideally i would like to work in an arts type organisation. I live in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, My name is sasha, i am looking for information on which training courses in makeup artistry would be most beneficial for me as a young enthusiastic person. i have been interested in this industry for most of my life and am trying to work out which would be the best optio for me. Is there an apprenticeship or traineship that can be done or do you know of anyone that would be willing to take someone on for some work experience. i would love it if anyone in the Adelaide area is willing to give me a go. i have had a some experience in a salon before and i like to think that i am a bright and bubberly person who is willing to work hard to suceed in my dream career. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi I am a fully qualified makeup artist looking for work experience in the Brisbane area. If any one is in need of a makeup artist or an assistant please let me know. I really want to get into the industry however I have few contacts. I am currently doing bridal makeup however theatre makeup is my first passion. Can any body help me??

Have you tried checking in the Stage Shop off Hindley Street? Tiffany who works there is one of the best makeup people in the biz and I am sure could at least give you a little advice or mentoring and who knows what may happen. I know Red Queen Designs will be having interns for costume and makeup for film later this year since we are using them... :) If you are interested please PM me or email us. A Make-up artist is required a for special effects movie being produced by Monash University multimedia students. You will be required to create an alien face/head on a male actor from the brief supplied for one day of filming. The artist will be given complete creative freedom within the brief. You will be supplied with professional photographs of both the working process and final result, as well as a copy of the final film for your portfolio." I am currently studying a certificate course in Make Up and I will be finished in 7 weeks. I am just wondering if anyone knows of anywhere that might need someone for work experience.
