LASALLE!!!
Wed, 28 Sept 2005, 11:41 pmHEY! okay here's the deal... i've been looking at lasalle, the performing arts college in singapore and i REALLY want to audition BUT when i went to there website i just got sooooo confused about the closing dates etc. for applications??? will i have to wait for next year or can i still apply??? anyone who can help?

Hey D,
LASALLE-SIA will be holding auditions in Australia from Nov 7 til Nov 15 this year in Perth, Melbourne and Sydney.
The course will start in July 2006 (since Singapore is in the Nothern hemisphere). I don't know what the deadline is for applications but I believe that you can pretty much book an audition time right up to a few weeks before the audition dates.

I'm auditioning too and I had the same problem with finding dates. However I know a couple of people in the course (who tell me it's terriffic, by the way!) and they told me they closed last week, but that late applications are also accepted. Don't know how reliable that is because they're not admin staff, obviously. However I would maybe email the school and not waste time getting it in. Hope that helps!

I'm in the 1st year Acting course here at LASALLE and we've got people in our class who didn't audition for the course until 6 weeks prior to starting classes in July. I have a feeling that the auditions for LASALLE are only being held in Nov so that people who are auditioning for NIDA/WAAPA/VCA can also use their pieces for LASALLE at the same time.
LASALLE have in the past held auditions right up to a few weeks before classes start because the Singaporean auditions won't be held until then - just like with the Aussies auditioning for NIDA or WAAPA.
I don't think it's too late - send it in ASAP though so you can make sure that they have a free slot for you.

hey guys,
those auditioning for lasalle, get your applications in asap. You can print them off the website but get in soon, there are alot of people auditioning this year so the sooner you get in the better. It was by pure luck that someone auditioned 6 weeks prior to the course last year, must have been fate that a space opened up at last minute. So the sooner the better.
