As you are may or may not be aware the Q theatre in Railway street Penrith, will be demolished to make way for carparking!

The Q is special to me, being the theatre which started my intrests in the industry, my first time on stage, my first lighting design all happened at the Q.

THe last show to happen at the Q is on 27th August, its going to be a sad night. This theatre has a big history and lots of memories for many actors and techies who have done shows at the Q.

I would love to hear if anyone has any memories of the Q and share them.

I know that there is a brand new Q nearly completed, but it won't be the same.

For more info on the last show look at www.qtheatreco.com.au

The Q on railway street will be Missed!

I have performed in the Q Theatre twice, both in highschool productions! I love the theatre and was devasted to hear that they were demolishing it to make way for more Plaza expansions.
I don't think the local community and the performing community is quite aware of the gem that is being lost!!
I am trying to write an article on what has happened and what the new space for the Q Theatre will be like (can anything compare to the original?) but am having great difficulty trying to get in contact with anyone at the Q Theatre or the Joan Sutherland Performing Arts Centre (where the theatre is relocating to).
Can anyone help me? Do you know who I should be talking to?
Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
