Looking for internships or jobs

Hello, I am a technical theater student in the United States, and am looking for either jobs or internships in Western Australia. I am in the BFA program for technical design and production with my two focuses being stage managing and costume design. I am very interested in finding a job or an internship, and any information would be greatly appreciated, since its a bit hard for me to get much info on jobs there, here in the US. Hi RebeccaProbably even tougher finding a paid job or internship over here in WA.:)WA's professional theatre scene is very small, you may do better looking for contacts in Sydney and Melbourne. You might have some luck looking here:Australian Theatre GuideHowever, we do have a well respected Academy of Performing Arts here in WA. They run a programme probably not dis-similar to your BFA course. They have courses in stage management, costume and related areas. I'm currently doing a BA in Dramatic Art - Production in Victoria Australia. There doesn't seen to be much happening in Australia at the moment. Western Australia has a very small scene for theatre. Your best option would be to go somewhere like Sydney or Melbourne. But still the theatre industry isn't quite happening in those places either unless you are on a big American musical. The film industry is really taking off though. A SM is equivalent to an assistant director so maybe you could try there. I'm actually interested in an internship in the US but like you I have no idea of the industry. If you could give me any information - my majors are stage management, lighting and sound design - I would be much appreciative. Hope you get what you are looking for.
