Can ANYONE offer me some experience?
Thu, 3 Sept 1998, 02:40 pmMy name is Catherine and I am 18 years of age. Last year I graduated from St Brigids College Lesmurdie. After completing my TEE I entered university as a commerce student, due to the advice of a very job orientated family. Recently I have come to terms with what I have always known, my one passion in life is drama, and the best talent that I have been blessed with is being able to perform.I have now quit my Commerce course and am aiming for a place at WAAPA at the end of the year. My experience in drama has so far been limited to my studies at school from year 10-12, therefore, to help with gaining a place at WAAPA I am now seeking as much experience as possible before my audition. I am willing to do any work, performing or backstage,paid or voluntary, and any experience that is offered to me would be IMMENSELY appriciated.If you can help, please contact me at the e-mail address provided.Thankyou.

If you don't get my email let me know.Its a great time to be looking for backstage experience as nearly all metro clubs will do an October or November production.Your closest clubs are KADS ( at Kalamunda ) and Blak Yak ( Thornlie ).They are doing a joint production of One Act Plays at the Don Russell Performing Arts Centre in Thornlie this weekend.Bookings 9493 4577 .

Hi CatherineI think a few of us know exactly how you feel!Check the Auditions list tomorrow and you'll find that it has (finally) been updated. Most clubs will readily accept an offer of backstage assistance from a reliable individual.Good luck with WAAPA.CheersGrant
