hey,
i just wanted to inform some of the people that are posting things such as '15 year old looking for acting job' and so on that because there are so many of them, people are getting confused... well at least i am ;)... i know that it has nothing to do with me, but i know how confusing it can get when there are 50 people of the same age looking for an acting job and that because almost everyone has the same subject title, they hardly stand out... can i suggest that people change the subject titles? i know that that is hard but maybe, just maybe, it can make that small difference...

I remember thinking that when I was young, and telling people the same thing, everyone would say "get an agent", and I thought to myself "how can I get an agent with no experience..."
But I did....
So for anyone interested in acting/commercial/local tv extras etc, take note:
Go to your local Modelling/Casting Agency - you will more then likely have to pay for a course.. (Dont think that they are trying to scam you, you need to work with them before you work for them, vice-versa).
But go to a few first, and ask what commercials/productions/films etc their agency has been involved in - pick the best one, go in with some home snaps of you (usually one close up and full length), with a sheet of paper with your hobbies, experiences (e.g horse-riding, anything), and your personal statistics (weight, height etc)
If they say that you must pay to have proffesional photos done - try somewhere else- dont pay any more money then you have to!
When you start the course, make sure you let your teachers know that your interested in any experiences available.
Also, do drama at school, mabey even join a local theatre amateur group, build up your resume, and have fun!
And no, I'm not a proffesional actor or anything like that, but I've done enough to know that this is good and geniune advice!
(To look for an agent, see CASTING AGENCIES/ MODELLING in yellow pages)
hope it helps someone.
thanks, lynnette
