Results :Poll - A Matter of Degrees
Mon, 13 Dec 2004, 01:40 amPoll results:
Do directors really care about whether you've studied and done a degree at NIDA or elsewhere?
218 participants in three weeks
If youÂ’re right for the job youÂ’re right for the job 112 votes 54%
It all gets considered 37 votes 17%
Depends where you studied 20 votes 9%
The audition is all that matters 17 votes 8%
DoesnÂ’t matter, if you have equivalent experience 11 votes 5%
Depends what kind of audition it is 7 votes 3%
Depends what the Degree is 2 votes 0%
Depends on the number of years of training 0 votes 0%
So according to this poll, the number of years of training and the type of degree hold no especial sway; having equivalent experience is not a big substitute for training; only 8% believe the audition is all that matters, whereas 17% think all factors are taken into consideration; only a small consideration is given to where you studied; ...and all this is true regardless of what sort of audition it is.
The majority of us believe if you're right for the job, you're right for the job...
...so the question is - Is there even any necessity to hold auditions?
