My name is Luke Heath I have recently been involved in a locally (western australia) written and performed play called "A Fractured Fairytale" and i believe that it has touring possibilities, it worked well with some of the cast as young as 5 years old, and no one aged older than 19. BUT, that doesnt always have to be the case. It was just a good oppertunity for the young kids to get some experience that they wouldnt have otherwise had. So, to cut a long story short, i am looking for companies in other states that would be interested in performing it. I am willing to direct it myself, but if not, i would like to help some how, so i can make sure it stays as close to the original as possible.

The theatre can be a harsh place at times and as much as I have sympathy for your quest at such a young and promising age - Stand tall, stand strong and above all.... stand proud!!! Don't ask for sympathy or pity... but, prove!!!! Push yourself beyond limits! Always want more!... and if you do this, with pride and honesty... you will succeed!!! Just do it!!! No Pity. Just Pride!

Brisbane, Qld, 4001, marked attention to Susan Cridland, (my married name). I will pass it on to the co-ordinator of the Children's Theatre for you.
Could you also include the details of the author/publisher details for information on performance rights?

Susan, I will have to post it to you, as i only have a hard copy. If possible I would like to be involved in the direction of the play, as I would like to make sure it stays as close to the original as possible, but i am in perth, and still a student. Would it be possible for the theatre to budget for paying part of my flight, as well as putting it on. I know I am taking a bit of a liberty by asking, but I would feel better about it if I was involved.

Seems strange to me, Old Friend, that you didn't see this coming, after your last advice to Luke was

If someone is trying to 'push themselves beyond the limits' of gravity, jumping up and down and 'always wanting more'....it doesn't mean they will succeed in their quest to fly. And sooner or later, that Pride will have to fall.
Perhaps better advice would be to UNDERSTAND your limits. Ask where others have succeeded before you, and learn from their methods. Improve
what skills you can, and be inventive, but also find out exactly WHAT IS REQUIRED to achieve your aim, and adapt your process so you can PROVIDE WHAT OTHERS WANT, in order to achieve your goals. And in this situation, some humility might be a better platform to step from.
I think Luke was extremely fortunate to have had such a generous offer from Susan; I did not expect any companies to have taken any notice of his post here, titled the way it was. He needs to be careful to recognise when he's been given a lucky break, and not destroy his chances by being overly demanding. Send her the script, wait until you find out if they are even remotely interested, and then do all your negotiations in PRIVATE, not like a prima dona in front of everyone here.
You've got to have a dream...but you also have to recognise what it's like to be awake.
