community newspapers sponsorship pilot programme
Tue, 13 Jan 2004, 12:59 pmHello Everyone
A little while ago, Greg Ross posted a notice about a community sponsorship deal for local theatre. After much discussion with the community newspapers, they have come up with a new deal for a number of theatre clubs .
This deal has been worked out by the Community Newspapers and is a business venture on their behalf. It is not an ITA venture and it is not run by the ITA. The Newspapers are approaching a number of clubs and will meet with those clubs very soon to discuss the deal.
If I could ask you please not to contact the branch managers of your local papers about this idea, because as of this moment, they have not been told of the deal. They will learn of it as soon as we have the commitment from the clubs that have been invited.
This programme is a pilot one only. It will run for a year and depending on the success of the programme may continue on and may broaden to include more clubs.
Could I please stress to everyone that there is no point in contacting your local paper at the moment. Everything will be made very clear to everyone at the meeting to which you have been invited.
If you have not heard about this deal yet, it may mean that your club is not one of the chosen clubs for this years programme. I apologise for that but stress to you that not all clubs automatically qualify for this deal.
I hope this clears up the situation. Branch managers will be told about the deal , when I find out how many of the clubs intend joining the programme.
Thank you
