Re: more audtions in Perth for teens!
What are you looking for Ren? Community Theatre, Professional Theatre, TV, Film? This site is mainly Comm Theatre with occasional news on the other fields. If you're interested in more professional fields, then you should really investigate getting an agent but don't expect them to work for you. You have to keep on their backs and show your eagerness. Partake in classes or activities they provide as much as you can.
If you are interested in Film and TV then have a look at the Perth Actors Collective http://www.screenworkshop.iinet.net.au/ These are great classes and I recommend them highly. They can put you ito direct contact with the industry as well as teach you some valuable skills.
Get an agent and actively get involved. Don't simply look through web sites for possible auditions. The professional industry does not work that way. Auditions a rarely advertised as such.

Re: more audtions in Perth for teens!
Hey Ren
Being a teen myself, I can certainly sympathise with you on the difficulty of finding auditions for younger people. However, this site can be pretty useful if you know how to use it. On the left side of your screen, scroll down til you find a little section that says "Select State", click on that and change in to WA. That way when you check the audition section, you won't get hugely disappointed when you see the huge list of auditions and realise that only 3 of them are for WA! And sorry if you know all this already and I seem patronising.
The next step is to keep an eye on the audition section, and scan the other forums as well, as sometimes auditions are posted there instead of or as well as in the audition section. I would advise you to start with community theatre if you're interested in the theatre, coz you'll find once you know a few people and you've done a few auditions, not only will auditions be a hell of a lot easier, you're also more likely to hear about the goings-on in the theatre world.
Try and do as many courses as you can, as they are usually just as valuable - or more valuable - than being involved in a production. If you don't know anything about drama theorists or different types of acting, courses are a great way to find out through a hands-on approach.
If you're interested in film or method acting, there are courses offered by different companies in WA... there's a company called Make Believe Entertainment who offers courses in Method Acting and later acts as a casting agent as well, but you might have to look into that, coz I'm not sure if the courses are held during school hours.
And go to see as much theatre as you can, if you are interested in theatre. You can learn a lot just by watching, and check out some of the reviews on the website to get a different opinion on the play.
Being thirteen, you might find it difficult to get parts, but don't be afraid to be rejected - try for parts that are listed as a few years older, you never know, you might be exactly what they're looking for, and makeup can help make you look older anyway. Just don't be afraid to put yourself out there, coz as soon as you start to get to know people, it'll get easier. God I'm starting to sound like a relationship counsellour! Better leave it there...
Good luck
Sarah

Re: more audtions in Perth for teens!
Hello , My name is Chelsey Hanson. I'm from a small town in North Dakota and there's not much opportunity for plays and musicals at my age (14). So I'm willing to try anything , mainly singing parts though. Don't be fooled by the North Dakota part, I'm not a cowgirl. I also would LOVE to be the next Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge, which I loved that part. I know all songs by heart from that movie. SO HELP ME!
Sincerely, Chelsey "The NEXT Big Thing" Hanson

Advice to anyone looking for auditions.
1. Check the auditions listing on this site
2. If you can't find anything there, then find your local theatre on this site by searching for companies.
Strawberry- there are several active companies in your area including Blue Mountains Musical Society. Check out their website on http://www.bmms.org.au/ then ask them for further advice. They will know your area better than I do and point you in the right direction.
