Well the one-act season is clearly upon us. Marloo's season starts on 5 September, running Fridays and Saturdays, with two shows on the bill (a third was cancelled due to ... unforseen circumstances).

The headliner is The Real Inspector Hound, an early Tom Stoppard piece. It's a sophisticated, subtle, confusing, funny play. Please come. Ring 9255 1783 to book.

Synopsis:
Birdboot and Moon, two theatre critics, meet in the audience at a production of what seems, at first glance, to be a fairly ordinary whodunnit called "Murder at Muldoon Manor". As the play unfolds before them, they are more concerned with their own lives – their ambitions and affairs, domestic and professional – until one of them falls in love at first sight with the actress playing Lady Cynthia. She’s beautiful: "a vision of eternal grace, a poem" and he feels his whole life changing. From this point the line between audience and play begins to blur, and as the mysterious madman who is on the loose in the swamps starts to claim victims from both sides of the "fourth wall", we are entitled to ask "who is the Real Inspector Hound?"
