Australian Academy of Dramatic Art???
Sat, 26 July 2003, 08:48 pmHi,
Anyone know much about the Australian Academy of Dramatic Art? Its in Sydney (Surry Hills)
Does anyone here have any personal experiences with AADA? How reputable is it? How does it compare with NIDA/WAAPA/VCA?
Their website is OK, but what I'm really after is the inside knowledge
Thanks for that,
F.

i can see what you guys mean about the head, but the way i see it, the industrys filled with egotistical or difficult people, and frankly if you can't learn to put up with them, it could be a major set back in your career. you dont alwayse get to choose who you work with and there's no point getting worked up about it.
also the school may be lacking in some facilities compared to waapa or nida, but the teachers are fantastic and to me thats what counts. the atmosphere is much more comfortable then that at nida, and their attitude to teaching is a nurturing one, as apposed to nida that has a reputation of breaking a person before remolding them.
im not saying aada is the best, it just depends on what youre looking for. my advice is to make the most of what youve got to get the job done, because in the end its up to you to make the magic, not the hall you work in.
