Your goals

Hello, I'm not a Sydneysider so I cannot offer advice about the agencies you have mentioned. There are some great threads on this site regarding agencies, how they work and how to identify a reputable one that is appropriate for you. Worth having a read. Before you embark on the business of contacting agencies and parting with $$, it may be worth clarifying your goals in this endeavour. If your driving motivation is to find a quick way in to the industry to make heaps of money like your lucky friend, then I fear you may find yourself disappointed. Your height and martial arts background alone is unlikely to open doors for you with legitimate acting agencies. My advice? If working professionally in the performing arts industry is something that calls to you, then investing some time and money in some acting or modelling classes right now would probably be the best start. You will aquire some skills and get a better feel for what the job entails. Getting onstage in a few amateur productions is a low cost and fun way of getting to know the ropes and the craft better too. No-one makes a living off extras work and ongoing paid acting roles are very hard to secure. This is not the industry to enter if your life goals include a regular, secure income and personal wealth. I hope this has been of some help. Plingette :)
