Looking for an Opera/Classical coach to pick up where last one left off (to pursue own career)
Sun, 22 July 2012, 06:27 pmAm looking for a vocal coach to pick up where my daughter’s
last teacher (opera/classical coach) left off.
Daughter is 15 now and has been studying classical since she
was about 7-8 years of age... so she's been singing just classical about 7
years already... Mostly taught by a classical/opera coach who among
private students also taught at daughter's college but has now left for a solo
career which has left us a bit in the lurch...
Daughter also had a couple of years with a classical coach
in Warnbro and a year with Ruby Philogene (http://www.philogene.net)
when Ruby lived locally to us at one time.
my daughter was supposed to be going for her Grade 5 and
Grade 6 vocal exams this year but with her coach pulling the pin, she is just
going to go for her Grade 5 exams – (It was her coaches idea she could/should do
both.)
I have already asked some local vocal coaches but none of
them believe they are capable of taking daughter on and tell me she needs someone
more experienced for her level and we'll have to look Perth-ward... so that's
what I'm doing ... starting here
We live an hour out of Perth and will drive.
If you need more info... a sample of what daughter has been
singing and is singing currently, Poor Wandering One, Nessun Dorma, The Girl in
14G, high harmonies of The Flower Duet, Vilja, The Laughing Song (from Die
Fledermaus) and songs of that ilk... so looking for a qualified vocal coach who
appreciates that repertoire too of course would be helpful If it helps, she’s a coloratura
soprano.
Any leads would be most appreciated – feel free to email us –
I have checked and our email link here works so use it and I'll get your emails.
Many thanks!
