Poll Position
Fri, 14 Feb 2003, 11:12 pmUm - don't know what happened with the format of the new poll. It's a bit hard to read.
I guess there's never been a poll that took up all of the available response options. Maybe go to Polls/View Polls where you can read it all more clearly, and then return to submit your votes.
Cheers,
The Poll-tergeist

Looks fine to me.
Mind you, no option for the philistines that haven't seen anything.
Also Bald Prima Donna omitted from the list, yet I understand, from and authoritative source, that it was one of the most exceptional fringe offerings. Anyone else get to see this show? Care to comment?

No Grant, 'Bald Prima Donna' IS there on the list. So is The Memory Game, but I can't read that one because it overlaps with the title bar for the message forums. The three options below the title bar are horribly overlapping the dates for the latest Billboard Bulletin posts and are illegible....maybe it's just my browswer, but it's just not working for me.
Wanted to put a category "None" but there wasn't room in the poll set- up program. Also, 'On Our Selection', 'Pantomania', and 'Ristorante Immortale' got left off because it ran out of space.
Is there a glitch in the program? Otherwise, in the interest of fairness and legibility, I think I'll abandon this poll and move on to the next.
The topic can be discussed through the usual forums if anyone's interested.

Re: Poll Pottty
I really must learn to put my glasses on when i'm peering blearily at this site in the middle of the night.
My sincere apologies Craig. There most definitely is a Bald Prima Donna.
As far as overlapping polls are concerned, we're not currently running any news items, so the length of the poll is so long that it runs into the screen area for Billboards.
Perhaps, rather than drop the poll, any suggestions for news items?
Cheers

Re: Poll Position - solution
Aha - if the poll doesn't read properly when your browser's set to maximum screen size, all you need to do is resize your window by dragging the width in a bit, and the boxes will sort themselves out without the overlap.

Congratulations, Vagabond Theatre. "The Angriest Video Store Clerk In The World" seems to have scored a vote already, although as far as I understand, you haven't opened yet!

Re: Poll Vaulter
So when i checked, 24 people on this site had voted on the shows they'd seen. Now I guess that some people saw more than one show and of course not all people vote on polls but really....
24 people went and saw a fringe show this season! This out of the educated, theatre loving public.
There should be the obvious addition of the question to the poll "Did it have a friend of yours in it?"

ha! yes, i have noticed this. hmm, perhaps some time-travelling theatre goer filling up the flux capacitor on his DeLorean just to pop back and register his attendance? no, perhaps not. maybe its that person who stands at the window of our rehearsal room, staring at us with those, cold, black, soulless eyes... STOP STUFFING MY LETTERBOX WITH YOUR SOILED UNDERWEAR...........PLEASE!

Hey Dave, I'm sorry to say I've not been to any shows in the Perth Fringe either, so I haven't registered any votes.
Mind you, I've been in the cast of two fringe shows, and was in Melbourne for two weeks, so that's possibly an excuse? (And on one of my nights off I saw The Cat Who Ran). (Which was charming, btw).
Still, I'm very disappointed in myself. Last year I was in the cast of THREE fringe shows and still got around to seeing at least three or four others.
Not only that, I haven't actually been able to wear a fringe since about 1994...
Cheers

Re: Low Vault-age
Oh wait, happier now...I just remembered I performed in a short film for the Over The Fence Comedy Film Festival, which is part of the Fringe...so that brings it back up to three.
Doesn't improve my attendance rate though, unless we get shows cancelled.
(and nothing's going to improve my wearing a fringe...unless you count that daggy brown leather jacket of mine with the tassles...)

Re: Poll Vaulter
oh my dear god- grant, you are absolutely correct, you DID win those underpants, signed by the 1984 cast, i believe! dammit, i will find them - they have to be around here somewhere.
i see you got my email about 'jnr'... a piece of advice - the concept of you coming anywhere NEAR 'jnr' with a battered needle and a bottle of ink is NOT the best way to seduce me....
perhaps a battered needle, a bottle of ink and a bottle of WINE might do the trick. i suggest you re-think your 'jnr' strategy..... :)
and im only really up at this time as the 'pre-opening night adrenaline' won't let me go to the land of fluffy white clouds. perhaps i might look around and try to 'sniff out' that underwear....
