Judging by early feedback, a rapid (weekly or fortnightly) turnover would be most appreciated. Enough time to be representational, but not so long to become stale.
Being so prominately positioned on the home page, these polls can be an excellent way to promote energetic discussion on a variety of topics (...eventually about topics other than polls!)

Poll Roller
There's a great opportunity here for someone to take on the role of poll roller. Switching polls is now a very straightforward matter of choosing the next poll and clicking a button and there's plenty of contributed polls to choose from. Any takers?
