Insular but not Integral
Sun, 15 Dec 2002, 11:55 amJust out of vague curiosity I checked out the tediously overdue-for-a-change poll on the home page, and I not only wonder at its relevance now that it's outstayed its welcome, but at its accuracy. The three options (that I note, are still receiving votes daily) currently add up to a grand total of 88%.
What happened to the other 12%? Or is there a "Don't Care" category which is being highly misrepresented?
A change of poll, any time soon. Please.
Cheers,
Craig

Acknowledged but not Actioned
Hi Craig,
I have chatted with our esteemed (and overworked) Webmaster about this. Apparently, it's not a simple matter of clicking a button (or two) to replace the current poll with an alternative. I don't pretend to fully follow how it all works, but I understand there's a xenomorph in the system necessitating the rewriting of rather a lot of code, text, stuff, whatever.
Bottom line: Grant's aware of it, but it'll take a fair bit of work to fix. He can't be blamed for having other things on his mind at the moment.... :-)

Thanks Jarrod.
I guessed that to be the case, but thought it still appropriate to get on his. (case) Just in ...
I believe the next poll (probably arriving on this one's anniversary in March) will be the question "Do Webmasters live in their own little world?"
Cheers,
Craig

Or possibly:
"Do Webmasters have time to live..... in this world or their own?"
"Do Webmasters have time to live..... in this world or their own?"

And that from my boss; who'd have some idea what a busy year I've had.
I'd promise a new poll (and most importantly a fixed interface for changing polls!) before Christmas, but I knock off work on Christmas Eve.
How does a fix for New Year sound?
:-)
Thanks for your (extreme) patience.
Cheers

Re: Guilty but not Unwilling
Silly me! Saw the subject heading and thought it must be about Sharon being pregnant!
What a let-down.
