Hamlet in Perth?
Mon, 11 May 1998, 05:46 pmI wonder if anyone has any info on a production of Hamlet soon to begin in Perth. I saw an advertising banner for it somewhere (i have forgetten), and i think the company was the "high energy theater company" (or something like that). I can't find any more info. If any one can help me with info about the production or company i would be most appreciative. Plase send any info to twinpole@hotmail.comThanks,Josh W

Re: Hamlet in Perth?
Yes, we'd like some information too re 'Hamlet'1!We being the ITA as we do like to keep our members informed of all things theatrical in Perth. From time to time a new theatre company emerges, often set up by a group of recent graduates or students from one of the Theatre Arts courses at Perth's Unis. Alas they find it's harder and a damn sight more expensive than they had envisaged to mount a production and after one or two shows that's it.We cynics in comunity theatre often wonder why they don't join one of the established companies, "amateur' tho they may be!!!!!!!! (Amateur - for the love of, from Latin, amator, lover)

Plase send any info to twinpole@hotmail.comHi Josh!Hi N-R-G (cringe) is the brain child of John Saunders, ex-artistic director of Acting Out and the WA Theatre Company amongst others. Except for his one man trip to Mars, i've not seen much of John since the collapse of the WATC. He has a wealth of experience and talent, fingers crossed for the new venture. They have begun operating out at Camelot - the Mosman Park Arts Foundation. As far as i know this is the company's first project. As near as i can tell the actors are a youthful company of academy hopefuls. I know they've had a pretty heavy rehearsal schedule to get their show on. It opens very soon.CheersGrant

Saunders is well aware of the dollars at stakesomeone must be backing them - they have a very nice (read "expensive") poster and quite a large team working on their showCheersGrant
