ACTT is celebrating the Sydney Fringe Festival by offering exclusive one-day only Masterclass workshops designed to refresh, polish and extend performer’s skills. “The Bouffon“ explores and celebrates ‘the grotesque’ which is the collision of opposites left unreconciled: The comic and the monstrous, the tragic and the ridiculous, the sacred and the profane… Theatrically this collision creates astonishing effects – do we laugh or cry? Are we repelled or delighted? Or both at once? This unique workshop will be an exploration of parody, irony, satire and mockery – the art of taking the piss; comedy, tragedy; the dynamic of the odd couple; timing and rhythm; deformation of movement and the evolution of new forms. By the end of this lively masterclass each participant will have experienced “The Bouffon” first-hand.
