Nuns Habits Help!
Thu, 26 Sept 2002, 10:32 amHi Everyone in ITA Land!
I urgently need to find four nuns habits for my show 'The Naughty Play' as part of the Lesbian & Gay Pride festival this year. If you think you know where I can get them please contact me via e-mail (see above) or phone 94544620.
Has any company done NUNSENSE or THE SOUND OF MUSIC lately?
I look forward to hearing from you.

I am novice mistress for the Adelaide and Sydney Houses of the Order of Perpetual Indulgence.
We make out own habits and can show you how to easilyl build habits. These need to be fitted to the individuals who are to wear them. The habits are in the traditional manner, with enclosed wimples, gamp [semicircular] and bandeau, along with tunic, veil and scapular. If you want you may also wear a cincture [a kind of belt signifying chastity].
I can help anyone with a sewing machine and an overlocker run these up in a few hours.
There is also an excellent treatise, by Elizabeth Kuhns, published by Doubleday in 2003 on the history of the nuns Habits. It's called "The Habit: A history of the clothing of Catholic Nuns" ISBN 0 3855 05884.
Please feel free to contact me if you need my help
