I'm 19 years old and I want someone to help me out finding a course or community theatre which runs acting classes, training or something. I have had very little experience prior to this. Back when I was 15 I did some high school production playing the lead and was going to acting classes at Actors Management on Kings Street in Perth (which it is now closed down). I was wondering if anyone had any beginner-intermediate suggestions of courses/workshops/ect for someone my age now? Thanks, Alex

I don't know of any

I don't know of any community theatres offering courses. It's a case of "learn on the job", build yourself some contacts within the theatre community, and go from there. That's how it worked for me. The ITA ran a course last year to try and get more men into theatre in Perth. I haven't heard if they plan to do it again this year. Keep an eye on this forum, and you will see MALE ACTOR REQUIRED again and again. There's lots of opportunity out there. Go find them. www.meltheco.org.au
