Sunrise at Playlovers
Fri, 16 Aug 2002, 09:23 amCould someone please confirm the dates for Playlovers' current production? There are two listings in the What's On section. One of these lists the performance dates as August 9, 10, 16, 17, 18, 21, 23, 24, whilst the other says August 16, 17, 23, 24, 25, 28, 30, 31. Which is correct? (I suspect the latter.)
Thanks,
JB

Re: What's On - or Off
Fri, 16 Aug 2002, 02:15 pmEventually, it'd be nice to have the ability to delete entries in the What's On section.
I don't believe that entries should be removed with no regard - even once the show's over, they form an interesting and important history.
But there needs to be provision for removing errors, and perhaps a little more flexibility in inputting data in the first place would help this.
For example, great that you can repeat an entry over two months. But if the information you are repeating varies from day to day, it becomes misleading. The entries for "time" and "venue" become prominent in the message, but conflict with the true details if the production has variable performance times and matinees, or changes venues.
I know most people list this information in the description of their item, but it's still the natural inclination to overlook the fineprint and go with the prominent heading, even if it contradicts.
If a drastic change occurs in the information - like a show is cancelled or the dates are postponed, it would be useful to delete it and start again, to avoid having multiple versions of the same event with conflicting details.
