Touring work from overseas

I am a self employed performer and community drama worker, currently making my living in England. A friend with contacts in Australia suggested that I should look into the possibility of coming to Australia, maybe for a year, to tour my solo theatre piece and also spend some time doing the type of work that I do on a day to day basis in England - namely storytelling and facilitating drama work in schools and with a wide range of community groups. I am quite excited by this possibility and would love to hear from anyone who could give me any advice about touring work from overseas and getting involved with companies who engage in youth and community drama.
