After the success of 'It's My Party (And I'll Die If I Want To), Ellenbrook Theatre Company is looking at producing it's second play early next year.

ETC is new and relatively inexperienced, but has lots of energy and a committed team.

So, I thought I'd seek the collective wisdom of the theatre community to suggest a good second show for the company to attempt.

Generally speaking, the following would be our preferences:

  1. A show with a static set, or with two scenes separated by an interval. The Ellenbrook PAC has no wingspace or curtain, so set design is something of a limiting factor.
  2. A comedy, or at least a drama with some humour. Naturally we are seeking to educate audiences, but for the moment a comedy is the most accessible form of theatre for the Ellenbrook demographic. Ticket sales are also a consideration, and realistically, comedies are easier to sell.
  3. A cast of fewer than ten, ideally around six. The company is still building its capacity to cast plays and doesn't want to commit to something that is too hard to cast.

So what do you all think? What has worked for you?
