Theatre Lighting Course

Being from a Country Repertory Club in Kalgoorlie
I would like (if I may) to say would love for our Rep Club Members to be able to come to one of these courses.

If it were to be in the form of a weekend workshop on say a Saturday for instance, I think you would find that those of us "Country Clubs" would be able to support something like this more easily than one that is run during the week nights over a course of weeks.

I would like to see it included in the workshops that have been suggested for the June Long Weekend this year.

As someone who has both acted and directed shows Lighting is pretty important to the show -n lets face it if we don't have someone light us we
really don't have a show, as no-one can see us on stage.
At the Goldfields Repertory Club (In Kalgoorlie) we basically rely on one person to create our lighting sequences for us. I don't know what other clubs are like, but we do tend to loose a lot of talented people to the City. to be able to be involved in a weekend workshop would give our club the opportunity of having more of a chance to involve more members in this side of productions.

I think that it is a great idea for a workshop/course!
cheers

Thanks Barb,

I believe that there is a workshop on the Long weekend in June as part of the Ita Weekend. that will possibly be the go for any of us that are interested in the short term..

thanks to Kim and Martin shaw who let me know about this being part of the weekend.

One course that will have some lighting workshops is the ITA's Interact weekend. Held on the June long weekend it will have courses including lighting, makeup, stage fights, dance etc etc. It will cost $50 or less for the whole weekend (not including food / accomodation).

I think that this will be a great way as it will include so many other courses as well, it would give us all our money's worth!

cheers
Kathy
