2010 might be a bleak year?

So, at this stage there are only 2 audition notices posted for next year. How are we meant to plan our years if we don't know what's going on? I need more audition notices! Why aren't there more audition notices?

You're a hard task-master Garry D!!

It's the end of the year and we all need a break. come back in the New Year and I guarantee you'll be spoilt for choice!!

Also

Most clubs either just have, or are about to, start rehearsals for their first season next year. So audition notices are a bit redundant right now.

I think you are being a bit

I think you are being a bit harsh (or at least a bit premature). Admittedly there are still a lot of companies that are still to put their schedules for the year up on this web site but what has been publicly released is looking good. There are a number of productions, right up to Spamalot in November with Playlovers that I’ve already got in my diary either to put my hand up for or to go and see. It’s getting to the point where I will have to make some real choices. Perhaps this is a discussion for separate thread, but why do so many companies schedule 2 musicals, one in June-July and the other in November-December? If you want to do more than two a year, you may well be stuffed.

Well...

Maybe someone actually needs to update things on behalf of all the theatres...Taz Entertainment has information on it which is a better than on here.

Good idea

When Grant is feeling better, I'll talk to him about reinstating "access all areas" codes for committee. Only problem, is then we'd have to do all the updating too. Hmm. Will think about it...

i wasn't really talking about program postings...

My original comment was a little flippant, and I know that it's possible to search out the programs of most companies. My concern was more related to a scarcity of audition notices for 2010. Lots of people ask me how to get involved in community theatre and I tend to direct them to this website, and the audition notices in particular. I was surprised that so late into the year there were only a couple of notices listed, and thought that surely there must be a number of audition dates planned that hadn't yet been posted. There are a lot more on there now!
