Rumour has it, and i have heard this on very good authority, that Toni Collette has been cast as Sally Bowles in the new Australian Production of Cabaret opening in Melbourne in March at the newly refurbished Her Majesty's Theatre.

RE: CABARET

Sorry mate, but I don't think you are right.

Toni may well be playing the lead, but I doubt it will be at Her Maj. in Melb in March.

Man Of La M. wanted to open there, but were told it would not be finished yet, and are now opening MID YEAR at The Regent.

Also, most big musicals staged in Melbourne have approx. a 6 month lag time between annoucning their opening date, and then opening. If Cabaret was opening in March, don't you think they'd be selling tickets NOW to cash in on Christmas shopping???

RE: CABARET

You may be right but Cabaret aren't opening until the end of June and currently they are scheduled to play in the maj.
maybe not opening tix sales yet because of man of la mancha and oh what a night.
too many shows selling tix at the same time tend to lead to lost tix sales ie. sound of music vs cats a couple of years ago.

apparently Toni Collette is not doing Sally Bowles, it is Lisa Henlsey and David Wenham has been cast as the MC.
