Sun, 18 Nov 2001, 10:33 amLast night , the Equity Guild held their Annual Presentation for Awards recognising excellence in Professional Theatre in WA.
For 2001, the award winners were.
Best Production: "Aliwa" - Yirra Yakin Theatre.
Best Newcomer: Travis Cotton - "Away"
Best Actor (Male): Steve Turner - "To Whom it May Concern"
Best Actor (Female) - A tie this year between Marcelle Schmitz for "Redemption" and Susan Zeichner for "Noel and Gertie"
Best Director: John Milson for "Noel and Gertie"
The Southern Cross Equity award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre: John Milson
The Equity Award for services to the industry: Jay Walsh
