Voice acting for online/amateur audio productions
Fri, 14 Aug 2009, 05:59 pmJust curious - is there anyone out there who does voice acting or is involved in online/amateur audio productions (for say - radio theatre/dramas, audiobooks).
I've been doing it for about a year and a half and I've just noticed how popular it is over at the UK and USA but not here at all (hardly anyone I've met knows about it). I do amateur VA as a hobby - I don't plan on becoming professional at all. But I do know of people in USA who have been involved in thousands of amateur productions (say for student films, online flash animations) and became professional VAs just by years of practice and building up a good demo reel.
I've recently come into contact with two other people in Australia who are thinking of setting up an amateur audio production house. At the moment, we're pulling our resources together, seeing how many people are willing to get on board. (particularly any audio mixers out there.)
